This stunning stretch of untouched coastline is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean and a protected haven for endangered sea turtles. Closed all summer to protect nesting leatherbacks and hawksbills, Sandy Point beach is open to the public on weekends only, from 10 AM to 4 PM | September – March.
Famous as the breathtaking final scene in The Shawshank Redemption, this no-facility, carry-in/carry-out beach offers crystal-clear waters, soft sand, and unbeatable views. Come early, bring your gear, and enjoy the wild beauty of this unforgettable St. Croix treasure!
Coolers are allowed. Beach tents and umbrellas are allowed, but only when secured with sand. Poles and tent spikes that penetrate the sand are prohibited; they could puncture sea turtle nests under the sand.
