The wait is over—Sandy Point beach reopens for the season on the first weekend in September! This stunning stretch of untouched coastline is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean and a protected haven for endangered sea turtles. Closed all summer to protect nesting leatherbacks and hawksbills, Sandy Point beach is now open to the public on weekends only, from 10 AM to 4 PM through March.
Famous as the breathtaking final scene in The Shawshank Redemption, this no-facility, carry-in/carry-out beach offers crystal-clear waters, soft sand, and unbeatable views.
