🪸Coral Reef Week on St Croix is a celebration of one of the island’s most important natural resources. St Croix’s well-developed barrier reef on the East End, fringing reefs around three-quarters of the island, and a deep coral wall reef help to protect the island from breaking waves and provide shelter and homes to a myriad of fish species. Coral reefs not only have important cultural value but also provide billions of dollars in tourism and fisheries revenue worldwide.
